Marita Smith, Administrator

I have been in long term care for over 30 years, beginning as a nursing assistant and working in every department before becoming an administrator. I love working with people and I am honored to be able to provide care to our residents and to help them get to their highest quality of life, usually after they have experienced a traumatic event that brought them to us. Saint Anne provides outstanding nursing and rehabilitation care. We also provide good food and fun to make the healing process much more enjoyable then it otherwise would be.

I enjoy working in long term care because of the wonderful and interesting residents and families that I get the opportunity to know. Interacting with the residents is a very fun part of my job, whether through activities or individual visiting. I love to go on long walks on my days off, preferably by the water!

I really enjoy working in long term care with the elderly and have learned a lot from them. Our residents have very interesting stories to tell and I love listening to them. I have gained a lot of respect for them. On my off time I love to walk and spend time with friends and family.

I oversee payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and human resources. I have been at Saint Anne for 14 years and enjoy getting to know the residents. I have become very close to the residents and care about them very much. I enjoy yoga, walking and shopping.

I enjoy working at Saint Anne for so many reasons. I love seeing the quick progress our rehab guests achieve and to see their excitement when they are well enough to return home. Our long-term residents call Saint Anne their home and they really take pleasure in the many activities, their relationships with the staff and other residents, as well as eating great food! As Activity Director I have the benefit of providing great stimulation and fun for our residents. When I’m not at Saint Anne, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing on the Oregon Coast, camping and reading.

I was born and raised in the Queens borough of New York City. I have been in food service all of my career dating back to 1982.  I was a cook in the US Navy for 10 years and did another four years as a cook in the Coast Guard.  Since then I have been working in assisted living and nursing homes and at a drug rehab center for the Salvation Army.  I am very glad and happy to be working for Saint Anne.

Minachi Pillay, Laundry Supervisor

I have worked at Saint Anne for over 20 years and feel like it is my home. I love working with the residents. When we have special dinners for staff and residents, I will cook food from my native country, the Fiji Islands, which everyone enjoys. I also enjoy dressing up in my native costume for the residents for these special occasions.
